Consent and Communication
Learning from the pandemic we are working with a consent signaling system that offers broader value in sharing magickal space. CascadiaFire is a place where we actively experiment with both intimacy and boundaries.
During welcoming each participant is provided with a wearable indicator signifying to other participants their comfort level with being in close proximity to others. You will be provided with wristbands or buttons with a green, yellow, red code signaling your level of default consent while at CascadiaFire.
The base system will be:
- close contact welcome – green with hand gesture: both palms drawing toward invitingly
- let’s talk this over – yellow with hand gesture: both palms outward, alternating right and left, close and far
- give me space – red with hand gesture: both palms outward, pushing away gently.
Most of our event occurs outdoors and in large spaces where transmission risk is less.
If you want to wear a mask indoors, outdoors, spacious or tight, you are invited to do so as we respect each other in our choices. Depending on the situation masking while indoors may be encouraged, though not required for attendees.
If a state mandate is issued we will comply with event and medical requirements, including as appropriate the use of masks indoors and other health-promoting behaviors.
As always, we maintain high standards in our kitchen and eating areas. Masking, gloves or other sanitary attire will be used for all kitchen crew while preparing and serving food. Both indoor and outdoor seating area options are available so folx can dine in a location in alignment with their needs and choices.
Pandemic-Related Refund Policy
Refund requests follow the following schedule; any refund request must be received by the registration team by the dates listed:
- 100% refund (less Paypal fees) before August 31, 2023
- 75% refund (less Paypal fees) before September 14, 2023
- 50% refund (less Paypal fees) before September 21, 2023
- No refund after September 21, 2023
All refunds will be issued via check or PayPal within 30 days.
Donations to support participants with financial hardships are invited. Donations are not considered part of the Registration fee and cannot be refunded.
Registration is transferable if you are not able to participate as planned. However, you may not transfer your registration to another person without explicit confirmation from the registrar first! Any such new person will need to complete registration process. If a registration is transferred to someone improperly, CascadiaFire reserves the option to deny them entry.
